Jamun – the best of Indian regional cuisines

I was visiting meherchand market with family and we were looking for a place to have good indian cuisines from all parts of india to savour. I had heard from friends about this new place, Jamun and really wanted to try it out. So, we headed to the lodhi colony market and luckily got a reservation. The place was packed with people during the lunch time. It was buzzing and the ambience was great with a great theme with jamun color and nice decor.

The copper thalis and plates added to the ethnic feel of the restaurant. We ordered few mocktails from the menu at first. I saw the menu and tried the raw pappaya salad, which was just amazing and refreshing. In the lunch menu we also had the patte ki chaat, and chicken roast skewers.

Telengana Mutton curry
pork
Pork chilli fry
Chicken Stew

It was a recommended dish by the server and we were happy we ordered it as it was a unique dish. We were hungry and luckily there was an option of a thali meal. So we ordered the mini meal thali in which we tried the chicken roast which was delicious. They had a variety of rasam and chutneys to taste and try with the food. They have it all, from assamese parval and kosha mangsho rubbing shoulders with the likes of pork vinadaloo and gucchi pulao. The vegetarian section is as interesting as the seafood section. You must try the chicken xacuti which is an authentic goan dish. And dont miss the paya rasam and paya curry too!!

Do try gravy fishes, the gravy has lots of coconut in it and tastes excellent. Zucchini biryani can’t afford to be missed. End your meal with jamun kulfi. Unlike other kulfi, this one is prepared with jamun pulp without milk

A must visit for a true foodie. This is a place where I can go again and again for the food!
