This February, India will witness a never seen before food festival with World On A Platter – an International food festival taking place in New Delhi on 17th and 18th February, one that will enthrall the public of the National Capital with authentic cuisine, music and drinks from around the world. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is the venue for the extravagant festival, a boarding pass to travel the world. Skill India an initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2015 with an aim to train over 400 million people in India in different skills by 2022. Skill India has partnered with World on a Platter to promote their initiative, encourage people to keep learning and acquiring new skills.
The pass for the festival is priced as low as 150 bucks in the Early Bird Phase.
The festival will showcase the best of global cuisine such as Cuban, French, Italian, Indonesian, African, Australian, American and many more. The pitchers will pour delicious drinks from different corners of the globe. Seven continents of the world- Asia, Europe, Australia, North America, South America, Africa and World bar, would be decorated as per their geographies and the elements defining those countries would be a sight to see. The cultures from over 30 countries would be on display for you to taste the world on a platter.
It’s a calling, not just for foodies but art connoisseurs alike. For a true gastronomic experience, walk into the World Food Bazaar. For an extraordinary liquor experience, cheers to the World Bar where all the tipple lovers can relish different cocktails and drinks brewed in different corners of the world.
It is going to be two days of pure fun with special Alcohol and Food Games. Engage in a Hot wings and hot dogs competition, Vodka Gol Gappa Competition or a Beer Pong tournament or you could flip the cup, Roll the dice to get beer and ice and splash the cake.
Talking of the world being on a platter, there’s also a World Bazaar for your shopping muse; buy exotic artefacts and souvenirs to remember this sojourn around the globe. Engaging in Live Experience Activities and enjoying Live Musical Performance by International bands is an added delight! The festival will witness flamboyant performances by Jasmine Sandlas (of Bamb Jatt, Illegal Weapon, Lv di jean, Pinjra, Vachari fame), 4 AF (The 4 AF Music is a professional Music band of 4 Africans. They will play African music, salsa and rumba, a professional band of 4 Africans who play African music, salsa and rumba), Oja Pali, Russian fire act, Jayanthi Live and Club Bandits.
There will be a phenomenal Silent Disco set-up; party hard with the world and your own playlist! It’s the world and you can’t miss the forever tempting Beaches. There’s a Pop Up Beach with sand, coconut trees and a bar serving beach cocktails and fresh coconut water. Take sips of delicious drinks from across the globe at the Moving Bar, a moving cart serving alcohol all around the world.
Hosted by Venyou, an event management company, India’s first international food festival, World on a Platter is where more than 100 food stalls will lend flavor of the food, offer mesmerizing performances by more than 10 international bands to display their culture, offering you an excellent travel experience.
From the hosting city, popular food and nightlife brands such Lord of the Drinks, ZIU, Makka Makka, Kebab-e-Desserts, Summer House Café are also participating in the festival. Furthermore, Lalit food truck, Chowringhee Rolls, Imperfecto, Tamasha, Mia Bella, Social, Oh So Stoned and numerous other happening outlets will come on-board to represent cuisines of different continents.
This festival is expected to catch the attention of people from around the world. The masses from Delhi and NCR along with the expats are expected to visit the two-day festival that will be a celebration of food and cultures from around the globe. The entry to the festival would be from Gate no. 2 of Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium.
